The Rt. Revd. Martin Sigillito was consecrated in
St. Louis, Missouri, in February, 2003, and since that time has
served as the Diocesan of the Traditional Anglican Church of Missouri
and as Presiding Bishop of the American Anglican Convocation (see
the website at www.americananglicanconvocation.org). In the last
year, his home parish, the Church of St. James the Apostle, has
tripled in size.
On the secular side, he is the president of Martin
T. Sigillito Associates, Ltd., through which he is involved in merchant
banking and international business consulting. He limits his law
practice to International Business Law and Transactions. He holds
an Honors A.B. from the University of Missouri-Columbia in Classical
Languages and Ancient History, an M.A. from Cornell University in
European History and a J.D., cum laude, from Saint Louis University.
He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a former Woodrow Wilson Fellow.
His articles and reviews have appeared in a number of journals,
including The Classical Bulletin, The American Journal of International
Law and the St. Louis University Law Journal. He is a former member
of the Advisory Board of the International and Comparative Law Center
in Dallas, Texas. He belongs to both the American Society of International
Law and the Missouri Bar. In the 1980's, before returning to private
practice, he was an associate professor of international law and
international relations and taught graduate and undergraduate students
in Leiden, Geneva and Vienna. He has lectured throughout Europe
and North America on various aspects on international law and relations
for more that fifteen years, most recently (and since 1990) at St.
Edmund Hall, Oxford, where he lectures annually on the history and
law of the European Union.
